Texts you can send with the link

  • After a finished job

Hi, thank you for choosing us. If you have a minute, a Google review helps other people find us and tells us how we did: [your review link]

  • After a visit or appointment

Thanks for coming in today. We would love to hear how it went. You can leave a Google review in under a minute here: [your review link]

  • For a repeat customer

It is always good to see you again. If you have a moment, would you share your experience on Google? [your review link]

Google's own help page tells businesses they can ask customers to visit a Google link or scan a QR code to leave a review. Read Google's guidance.

Five places the card and the link earn their keep

Reviews come from asking at the right moment, every time. Follow the job from hand-over to the next email.

  1. At hand-over

    In the folder

Tuck the card into the folder you give the customer when the job is done.

It is the last thing they read while you are thanking them.

  2. At the till

    On the counter

Stand the printed card beside the payment terminal.

The work is done and the customer is still in front of you.

  3. On the paperwork

    On the invoice

Print the QR code in the footer of every receipt or invoice.

It reaches customers who never stood at the counter.

  4. The same day

    In a text

Send the link the day the work finishes.

The job is fresh in their mind, so the review is specific.

  5. Every email

    Under your name

Put the link in your email signature.

Every reply becomes a small, polite invitation.

Where the Place ID appearsA map with your business pinned. A card beside the pin shows the business name and a highlighted field labelled Place ID, which starts with ChIJ.Place IDChIJN1t_tDeuEmsRUsoyG83frY4Copy IDCopy this one
The Place ID is a code of letters and numbers, usually starting with ChIJ.

Find your Place ID in about a minute

Your business needs a verified, public Google Business Profile for the review form to open.

  1. Open Google's Place ID finder.
  2. Type your business name and city into the search box.
  3. Click your business on the map. The Place ID appears in the box that opens.
  4. Copy it and paste it into the tool above.

Already have the short link from your Business Profile, the one that starts with g.page/r/? Paste that instead. The tool leaves it as it is and builds the QR code from it.

Ask in a way Google accepts

A review that breaks the rules can be removed, and it can put your profile at risk. Google's own guidance says the same.

Do

  • Ask every customer, not only the ones who seem happy.
  • Send the link soon after the job, while it is fresh.
  • Reply to every review, kindly and briefly.
  • Let customers write in their own words.

Never

  • Offer a discount or a gift in return for a review.
  • Write a review for a customer, or ask staff to post one.
  • Send the link only to customers you expect to be happy.
  • Buy reviews or swap them with other businesses.

Common questions

Is this Google review link generator really free?

Yes. It is free to use, needs no signup and has no limit. It runs in your browser, so the Place ID or link you paste is never sent to us.

Do I need a Place ID or a link?

Either works. A Place ID builds the review link for you. If you already have a short Google review link, paste it and the tool makes the QR code from it.

Why does my review link not open the review box?

Check three things: your Business Profile is verified and public, the Place ID belongs to your own listing, and the customer is signed in to a Google Account. Google requires a sign-in before anyone can post a review.

How big should the QR code be when I print it?

Make it large enough to scan from about an arm's length. Around 3 cm (1.2 in) wide is a sensible minimum for a card held in the hand, and a counter card can go larger. Test it with two different phones before you order a batch.

Can I offer a discount or a gift for a review?

No. Google treats incentives for reviews as fake and misleading content and prohibits them. Ask, say thank you and leave it there.

How do I get more reviews without chasing every customer?

Send the link by text soon after the job and put the card where customers finish paying. If you would rather not do it by hand, our review growth system handles the asking, the follow-up and the replies for you.

A link gets you started. A system keeps asking.
