# Solar Consult Qualification Playbook

For appointment setters preparing a useful consultation. The record helps a designer understand the request; it does not establish engineering suitability, financing approval, incentive eligibility or projected savings.

## Project request

Contact: [ ]. Property address and type: [ ]. Owner or authorized decision-maker: [ ]. Other decision-makers the caller wants involved: [ ]. Project goal: [ ]. Preferred consultation format: [ ]. Contact method: [ ].

A renter or person without authority may need an owner conversation rather than a rejection label. Record what is needed for a productive next step.

## Property context the caller can report

- Roof age and known condition, with unknowns left unknown.
- Planned roof or building work.
- Existing electrical or solar equipment as reported.
- Usage or bill information the caller wants reviewed.
- Battery or backup goals.
- Timing preferences and constraints.

Do not ask the caller to climb onto a roof or inspect electrical equipment. An appropriate professional evaluates technical conditions.

## Before the consult is booked

Confirm the advisor can address the project type, the decision-maker can participate and any requested records have an approved submission method. Do not require financial identity documents through ordinary email or text.

Preparation message: "The consultation will discuss [stated goal] and the information available about [property]. [Advisor role] will explain what needs a site or design review. Please bring [specific approved records]. We will not have a final system design or savings figure from intake alone."

## Questions to hand to the advisor

Suitability question: [ ]. Assumption needing verification: [ ]. Desired option: [ ]. Timing constraint: [ ]. Financing or incentive question: [ ].

Route financing and incentive questions to a person who can confirm current terms. Avoid an assumed rebate, payback period or bill reduction in the booking script.

## Consult and follow-up record

Appointment status: [ ]. Advisor: [ ]. Records received: [ ]. Open question owner: [ ]. Next step actually requested: [ ]. Follow-up date and channel agreed: [ ].

A reply pauses the automated booking sequence. A cancellation releases the appointment and cancels reminders. A decline or opt-out stops sales follow-up. If timing changes, record the customer's chosen date rather than using a universal sales cadence.

Review whether consultants received sufficient context and whether setters made unsupported promises. Fix the specific script or intake field responsible.
